The mission for D.A.R.E. is to teach students good decision making skills to help them lead safe and healthy lives. Their vision is a world in which students everywhere are empowered to respect others and lead lives that are free from violence, substance abuse and other dangerous behaviors. Throughout the months of September through December, representatives from the local D.A.R.E. offices came to Woodley to work with the sixth grade students, teaching them ways to deal with peer pressure, violence and other issues. At the end of the program, students are asked to compose an essay about how D.A.R.E had effected them and how they plan to lead better lives. The winners of that essay contest are: (from left to right) Sydney Murry, Marvin Miller and Lexiana Gholar. Congratulations students on your excellent work!
