Registration for Pre-K will begin on May the 7th. You may pick up an application at Woodley's front office. Applications are due no later than 4:00PM at Central Office on May 13, 2013.

Spring Fling- April2012

The April 4th Spring Fling was a huge success. Over 100 students and parents came out to enjoy an evening of dancing and fun!

Woodley Elementary students present and original series entitled "Walk the Walk." The "Walk the Walk" is a children's book series based on the 9 Core Values of the Hattiesburg Public School District. "A Lesson on Courtesy" focuses on the value COURTESY. The books are authored and illustrated collaboratively by students.

Spring Fling

On Thursday, April4th, Woodley is having a student/parent Spring Fling double date night. From 5:30PM until 6:30PM the students can dance away their cares in the auditorium, while parents enjoy a relaxing evening of music and mingling with other parents. Please come out and enjoy the evening. All students who are attending the dance MUST be accompanied by their parents. Students cannot be dropped off or accompanied by another family member. No non-Woodley students may attend. We look forward to seeing you!

Woodley Recognized by the Governor

Mississippi Association of Partners in Education hosted MAPE's Governor's Awards Luncheon on Thursday, February 21 at the Hilton of Jackson, Ms.  Woodley received special recognition from Governor Phil Bryant and was awarded the Partnership of Excellence Award 2013

Community Partner(s):  Parkway Heights United Methodist Church

Activities: Partnership supports Fall Carnival, Field Day, PBIS rewards, science fairs, teacher appreciation events, campus beautification. Donates uniforms, clothing, eyeglasses and supplies for teachers and students. Sponsors two book distributions annually as part of DREAM’s Reading is Fundamental program. Provides volunteers to assist with reading curriculum in K-2 classes. Launched “Beyond the Lunch Table” backpack food program.  



PARKWAY HEIGHTS' GENEROUS DONATIONS

Community Partner, Parkway Heights Methodist Church, recently donated over 300 books to the Woodley Library. Along with providing the students of Woodley Elementary with new and exciting titles via RIF, the members of Parkway Heights, continuously donate books and time to ensure the betterment of every single child at Woodley.

Read the Most- From Coast to Coast

On March the 1st, Woodley Elementary participated in Read the Most from Coast to Coast. The task was nothing uncommon for the students of Woodley, but the results were nothing less than extraordinary.  The goal was to, as a nation, beat last year's record of taking more than 3,581,992 quizzes in a single day. Woodley did its part by taking 515 quizzes. The record of 3,581,992 was broken around lunchtime and at the conclusion of the school day, the nation’s learners read a staggering 4,028,528.

Book donations from Pi Beta Phi

Pi Beta Phi is dedicated to philanthropic and community service efforts that will remove the barrier of illiteracy. In efforts to continue this, the young ladies of Pi Beta Phi generously donate nearly 100 books to Woodley Elementary.  



2012 Christmas Program

The students of Woodley Elementary School came out tonight to celebrate the traditions of Christmas. "Christmas Around The World" was an eclectic collection of Christmas traditions from countries all over the globe. Among the countries  being honored tonight were: Germany, Africa, Mexico. Japan, England and of course the U.S.A.
